Sport Affinity

Nedbank is a founding trustee of The Sports Trust and provides support through its Nedbank Sport Affinity. When you use any of the Sport Affinity accounts, Nedbank donates money to The Sports Trust to help fund sport development, identify talent and transform under-resourced communities. Since 1995, more than R36 million has been donated to the Trust.

Our Sport Affinity programme supports cycling, golf and soccer development projects, and you too can help sport development in South Africa by simply anking and investing with Nedbank. When you open and fund a Nedbank savings or investment account, we will donate to The Sports Trust on your behalf, at no cost to you. The more you save or invest, the more we donate.

You can make a difference in sport development in South Africa. Through the Nedbank Sport Affinity, you will support various projects that focus on the following:

Cycling development

Nedbank has funded the Nedbank Sports Trust Cycling Development Programme since 2005. The programme supplies bikes and supports the training and participation of over 200 cyclists in 12 high schools in the Western Cape, in the Boland, the Cape Metro and the West Coast every year. The programme has also broadened its scope and now includes disabled cyclists in previously disadvantaged areas.

Soccer development

As part of the Nedbank Cup sponsorship, Nedbank contributes to football development by awarding the winners of the tournament the opportunity to have a multipurpose sport court installed at a school in their jurisdiction. With a 20-year lifespan and five sporting codes, this state-of-the-art facilities are a true demonstration of Nedbank’s commitment to sports development in South Africa.
We also enrich the lives of the people in our communities by investing in soccer and training kits for schools and clubs around the country to help develop tomorrow’s soccer stars.

Golf development

We invest in golf-development facilities in disadvantaged communities to support the development of our nation’s future golfing stars.
